Think Hollywood elegance with a splash of Cinderella magic and you have Matthew and Whitney Mauro's fairytale wedding. Wed November 16, 2013, at St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church in Bethpage, New York, this couple's wedding was one of love and glamour.
A bride of classic beauty, Whitney shined like a diamond in her classic Pnina Tornai ball gown. With a Swarovski crystal embellished corset and a sweetheart neckline this gown is certainly fit for a queen.
Like Cinderella's glass slipper, Pnina's gown was the perfect fit for this bride. Having watched Say Yes to the Dress on TLC, Whitney knew that Pnina Tornai was her ideal wedding dress designer. It didn't take long for Whitney to find her perfect dress either.
“Walking into Kleinfeld I saw the dress and immediately knew it was the one,” Whitney explains. After trying on only five dresses total, saving her favorite, the classic ball gown by Pnina, for last, Whitney was reading to say yes to her dream dress.
However, no dress is complete without the perfect accessories. Wearing her hair half up, half down, Whitney opted to enhance her glamorous hairstyle with a custom Pnina Tornai headband.
“There was originally one large rhinestone in the middle, but they changed it so that all of them were the same size.”
It served as the perfect accent piece when paired with her gown's rhinestone-embellished sweetheart neckline.
To have a constant reminder of the special day, Whitney chose the perfect memento: Pnina Tornai's signature fragrance. “My mother suggested I try it,” Whitney says, “and I liked it so I decided I would wear it on my wedding day to remember our special day at Kleinfeld.”
Adding a touch of old Hollywood elegance, the couple arrived to their reception at Carlyle on the Green in a classic 1935 Packard. The stylish car plus her sophisticated gown were nothing short of pure Hollywood glamour as they arrived to celebrate their wedding amongst family and friends.
A truly magical experience, from finding her dream dress to marrying her Prince Charming, Whitney looked like the queen of her own fairytale story.
