Illuminated by a sea of soft Edison lights, Jessica Antonini-Remillard dazzled as she walked down the aisle to marry her true love, Justin Remillard at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art on September 22, 2018. Looking like a work of art herself, Jessica was simply breathtaking in her exquisite mermaid gown.
Jessica's road to her dream wedding dress was a very unique one to say the least. For starters, Jessica's sister and best friend had both worn Pnina Tornai gowns on their wedding days so Jessica knew that a trip to the Pnina Tornai Boutique at Kleinfeld Bridal was a must. Jessica went into the famous bridal salon open to any gown that spoke to her. Initially looking for a fitted, sleek and chic gown, Jessica wanted a non-traditional gown for her wedding day – or so she thought!
With her massive entourage in tow, Jessica began trying on gowns that fit the style she thought she was going for. One of the seven or so gowns that Jessica tried on was a sleek Pnina Tornai gown full of lace and crystals with an open back. It was exactly what Jessica thought she wanted and with her sister's exclamation that this gown was “the one,” Jessica got swept up in the moment and said yes to the dress.
Jessica quickly realized though that this was not the gown for her. Not only did Jessica cancel the gown, but she went back to Kleinfeld Bridal every weekend for a month and a half hoping to see the dress of her dreams there! Jessica began thinking that to get the wow factor that she was looking for, she would have to change her idea and begin trying on ball gowns, which she was initially against.
However, one day Jessica walked into the salon during a Pnina Tornai trunk show and spotted a gown like nothing she had ever seen before. It was a magnificent, lace embroidered mermaid gown with an illusion corset, pearl embellishments and a grand tulle train with lace appliques. Jessica tried on the captivating gown and while she was admiring it, none other than Pnina Tornai, the designer of the gown, walked over to see Jessica in the dress! After discussing adding crystal tennis bracelet straps to the gown, with her mother crying, and Pnina's blessing, Jessica was finally ready to say yes to her dream dress!
“I loved it! I didn't want to take it off,” Jessica reminisces. “I was waiting for that sort of moment, and I finally had that moment in that dress.”
To double check that her heart was right this time, Jessica came back again the next day with her sister and her niece and tried on the gown again. Still head over heels in love with the gown, Jessica knew that she had made the right choice. For Jessica, this gown just felt like no other gown had before and the difference was clear.
“Pnina's dresses felt like this is a high-end custom gown,” Jessica explains. “It fit my body like a glove; I looked slamming in it, and I didn't look like that in any other gown. To be honest, this dress blows all those other gowns out of the water!”
Jessica's love for Pnina's craftsmanship didn't end there though. In fact, in addition to her Pnina Tornai gown, Jessica also wore a Pnina Tornai veil, headpiece, and earrings! After meeting with Pnina the first two times to say yes to her dream dress, Jessica and Pnina really hit it off. Discussing every aspect of her wedding day look with Pnina and boutique manager, Ally, Jessica kept adding more and more Pnina pieces to her bridal ensemble.
First came the veil. Pnina had already designed a veil that went with the gown that Jessica had chosen. After meeting and bonding with Jessica, Pnina decided to take the cathedral length veil to the next level by adding even more lace appliques that matched the ones on the gown to Jessica's veil. Pnina gifted the ethereal veil to Jessica as a personal gift for her special day.
Jessica gushes, “That was the best gift that I could have gotten on my wedding day!”
To get advice on how to wear her hair to best compliment the gown, Jessica returned to Kleinfeld to consult with Ally again. They both agreed that side-swept loose waves would help Jessica achieve the modern romantic look that she was going for. To keep her hair in place, Ally showed Jessica a dazzling, crystal Pnina Tornai headpiece. It was a gorgeous piece that complimented the gown so well that Jessica had to have it for her wedding day attire as well.
Last were the earrings. Stunning, crystal drop earrings that tied everything together so nicely. How could she not have those too?
Finally, Jessica's wedding day look was complete and everything had come together quite beautifully. The bodice of the gown was marvelously modern while the sweeping tulle train was wonderfully romantic. It was everything Jessica could've hoped for and then some and when it came time to say her “I do's,” she felt like every bride should feel on their special day.
“I felt fabulous,” Jessica fondly recalls. “That was the best I've ever looked in my entire life!”
From head to toe Jessica was absolutely radiant on her wedding day. Feeling confident in herself, her wedding gown and her love for Justin, Jessica was ready for her modern day happily ever after.
