The weather was beautiful and the sun was shining down on Vanessa Holliday and her soon-to-be husband, Eric Girard as they tied the knot on October 21, 2017 on the scenic beach. The only thing gleaming brighter than the water crystals on Vanessa's gown that day was the gorgeous smile she wore on her face.
Wanting a high-end gown for her beach ceremony and as a special surprise for her mother, Vanessa booked an appointment to try on gowns at Kleinfeld Bridal. For Vanessa, this trip was more about creating a special experience for her mother, a huge fan of Say Yes to the Dress, rather than actually finding a wedding gown. But when Vanessa and her mother walked into the famous salon, they were swept up in the beauty of it all and were ready for a truly magical experience.
Vanessa didn't really have a designer in mind, but there were a few things she knew she wanted in her ideal wedding gown. Vanessa was searching for a form-fitting gown that was light and adorned with a ton of crystals. Vanessa put her faith in her consultant, Dianne, who came back with 5 gowns for Vanessa to try on. It only took Vanessa trying on three wedding dresses for her to find her dream gown.
“I knew right away that this was the gown for me,” Vanessa recalls. “I looked at it in the mirror and thought it looked really, really pretty!”
While standing out on the showroom platform, Vanessa was showered with compliments while in the gown. Her mother also agreed that Vanessa, indeed, had found the one. The gown that Vanessa had fallen in love with was a Pnina Tornai, Wind Upon Water Collection sheath gown covered in water crystals with a plunging v-neckline and keyhole back. Vanessa was truly a sight to behold in this enchanting and mesmerizing gown.
Vanessa's gown only needed a few small changes before it was pure perfection. To start, the gown Vanessa tried on was lined in a nude color, which Vanessa had changed to white. Next, Vanessa brought in the v-neckline so that it would not be quite as revealing. Lastly, Vanessa had the back of the gown raised a little bit due to her smaller stature. With these small changes made, Vanessa's dream gown was now ready to become a stunning reality.
This gown checked off everything that Vanessa was looking for in a gown and it was easy to see why she had fallen in love with it. As far as form-fitting gowns go, there is nothing that fits better than a Pnina Tornai gown. The sheath gown fit Vanessa like a glove and hugged her silhouette in all the right places. To add to that, the gown was completely covered in swirls of water crystals that were a signature embellishment in Pnina Tornai's Wind Upon Water Collection. Glimmering in the sun, they were perfect for Vanessa's beach nuptials.
To complement the gown, Vanessa simply wore her wedding ring and a pair of pearl diamond earrings that Eric had bought her. Initially thinking she was going to wear her hair half up and half down, that changed to completely up when Vanessa received the final version of her gown. She knew that she could not cover up the exquisite detailing on the back.
It was finally the day of her wedding, and Vanessa and her mother had been the only ones to see Vanessa's gown. Vanessa went into another room to change, and when she came out in her wedding dress her bridesmaids’ jaws hit the floor in amazement. Vanessa looked radiant in her sleek and sexy wedding dress. Another person completely floored by Vanessa's beauty in the gown was her fiancé Eric. Upon seeing his soon-to-be wife in her wedding dress, Eric could not hold back his tears for he was 100% in love with the woman he saw before him. For Vanessa, this was all the confirmation she needed that she had picked the right gown.
“I felt stunning in the gown,” Vanessa gushes. “The sunlight was hitting the dress from all these different angles and all the stress from everything no longer mattered when I put the dress on.”
Surrounded by the natural beauty of Turks and Caicos and her bridesmaids dressed in her favorite color, lime green, Vanessa was ready for her beach wedding. Vanessa had said yes to the perfect gown and now she was ready to say to “I do” to the perfect man for her.
