Overlooking the Sydney, Australia harbour, Kate and Andy Reynard said their “I do's” on March 3, 2018, In an elegant affair at the Taronga Zoo. A unique location, a one-of-a-kind view and an exquisite wedding gown all came together to make for one unforgettable celebration.
Originally from Australia but currently residing in New York, Kate visited Kleinfeld Bridal for the first time without any family or friends in tow. After endless hours of scrolling through different gowns on Instagram, Kate knew that she wanted a form-fitting gown with a low back. Something sleek and elegant that also captured her beach-girl style. Relying on her gown consultant to help her find her dream gown, Kate was focused and ready to shop.
Luckily for Kate her consultant understood exactly what she was looking for and pulled a handful of gowns for her to try on. Three or four gowns in Kate tried on an elegant Pnina Tornai crepe gown with a halter neckline and low back. For Kate, it was love at first try-on!
“I just knew as soon as I put the dress on,” Kate gushes. “It was so elegant and so chic.”
Even though Kate's heart said yes right away to this alluring and unique gown, Kate still tried on other styles just to get a feel for them. However, nothing compared to the Pnina Tornai gown that she had fallen in love with. Therefore, Kate flew her mother in from Australia to see her in this breath-taking gown. With her mother's approval, Kate was ready to say yes to the dress.
The gown Kate chose had just the right amount of everything for this upscale, beachy bride. It combined the best of both worlds with it's elevated; curve-hugging silhouette, with a fun laid-back halter neckline and open back. The scooped neckline had a modern and sexy vibe while the button down back with overlapping seams that folded into eye-catching form brought the classic element that she wanted to the gown. Originally mad with a bow, Kate opted to have that removed and chose to have an open back as opposed to the illusion mesh back the gown had.
While at Kleinfeld Bridal, Kate and her mother picked out a veil to accompany her gown. Since Kate chose a very chic and minimalistic gown, a dramatic veil was just what her bridal look needed. Kate picked out an ethereal, cathedral length veil with satin silk trimming around the edge. To pull the whole look together, Kate wore her hair in luscious beachy waves with her veil trailing behind her. An art-deco hairband acted as her hair bling. Kate paired that with some art-deco earrings her mother gifted her, a designer necklace and a sapphire, diamond ring that had belonged to her grandmother.
Kate's vision for her wedding day had finally come to fruition. Everything had come together in an enchanting and eclectic mix of upscale art-deco vibes combined with the casual and natural beauty that lush white orchids and white roses bring. From the venue, to the decorations, to the gown; Kate's wedding was the embodiment of her and her new husband's personal style. Surrounded by beauty and wearing a jaw-droppingly, gorgeous gown, Kate's wedding day was everything she could have dreamed of.
Kate reminisces, “I always wanted to look classy and elegant.” Kate's gown accomplished this and so much more. “I felt elegant. I felt very summery and fun. I felt like it was very classy but fun as well. I just loved it!”
In a gown that was very different than what a bride might find in Australia, Kate felt that the gown captured everything that this Australian girl was all about: timeless love and happiness.
