It is so important to wear a gown that you love, a gown that makes you excited for your special day. Every bride should experience this feeling while slipping on her wedding dress. Pnina Bride Kira Greenfield felt this feeling the minute she put on her custom Pnina Tornai mermaid gown. In her gown Kira prepared herself to say her “I do's” to her soul mate Mark Greenfield on July 24, 2017 at the Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn, NY.
Shopping for her dream wedding dress was a memorable and exciting experience. Kira was adamant on a small audience, she wanted to share this experience with her just her mother. Kira and her mother visited Kleinfeld Bridal in search of a gown that fit Kira's vision. She was looking for a dress with a mermaid silhouette, a dramatic train and lots of unique and intricate beading and lace. Kira explained her vision to her consultant Camille who knew the perfect designer to bring Kira's vision to life. Camille headed into the Pnina Tornai boutique and pulled some gowns that she thought would excite the future bride.
After trying on a few gowns, Kira had narrowed it down to two gowns that she loved. While both gowns were from Pnina Tornai's Wind Upon Water collection, the first was a sheath gown with the most exquisite with lace detailing and embroidery, the second gown had the mermaid silhouette that Kira's heart was set on. Understanding that maybe a custom mix of the two gowns would be best, Kira's consultant Camille told Kira to come back in a couple of weeks for the Pnina Tornai trunk show where Kira could sit down with the famous designer in the Pnina Tornai Boutique and possibly create the gown of her dreams.
So that's exactly what Kira did! While waiting to return to the Pnina Tornai Boutique at Kleinfeld Bridal, Kira did go to look at other gowns but she simply could not get the two Pnina Tornai gowns off of her mind. When the time came, Kira returned to the bridal salon and met with Pnina Tornai and boutique manager Ally to see what could be done to bring her dream dress to life. Kira tried on the gown, while describing how she would like the gown to look Pnina sketched a gown that she thought would make the bride-to-be extremely happy.
Upon seeing the final sketch of her future wedding gown Kira and her mother were sold! As discussed, Kira's new custom wedding gown would have the lace and embroidery of the sheath gown, which would be extended down the entirety of the dress, including the train. It would have an ivory underlay instead of the nude lining. Kira decided to keep the illusion back to the gown since it added some edge to her look. Lastly, and to Kira's delight, the gown would have the extravagant mermaid flare of the second gown giving Kira the silhouette she desired.
With her waterfront venue in mind, Kira knew that her unique mermaid gown would go wonderfully with the scene her and her fiance hoped to set for their wedding day. Going for a mystical and magical garden theme complete with white flowers, greenery and fairy lights everywhere this would truly be an occasion to remember.
Speaking of remembering, Kira didn't remember until three weeks prior to the wedding that she still needed a veil! Luckily a quick trip to Kleinfeld Bridal took care of that. A trip to the jeweler and Kira was set with her statement tear drop earrings for her wedding day. That was the only jewelry Kira felt she needed for her wedding day since her gown was so exquisitely detailed.
When Kira's wedding day came around she knew she had chosen the right gown. During her final fitting Kira showed her gown to some of her loved ones and their reaction was the priceless response she needed that let her know all the decisions made up to this point were spot on. It was now time for her to wear the most important gown of her life and she could not have been more ecstatic to do so.
“I cried when I put it on and I'm really not that kind of girl. I felt like that dress really had been made for me,” Kira reminisces. “When it all came together I just felt happy and special; I felt I looked the way I had always envisioned for my wedding throughout the entire process.”
Full of all the emotions a bride wants to feel on their wedding day in their wedding dress, Kira felt like her vision had come true. Kira walked down the aisle in her custom gown and said, “I do” to happiness, love and her very own, one-of-a-kind forever after.
