The sun came out just in time for Jennifer to walk down the aisle of the botanical garden Na Aina Kai in Kalihiwai, Hawaii and marry her soulmate, Matthew Weinstein on August 4, 2016. Though it had been raining all morning, Jen knew the sun would come out for her wedding – just like she knew she had picked the perfect gown to wed in!
While many brides make special plans to visit the Pnina Tornai Boutique at Kleinfeld Bridal, the trip to the famous salon was a sudden decision for Jen. Lucky enough to book an appointment before her mother's trip to Peru, Jen and her mother went to the bridal salon where Jen would try on wedding gowns for the first time. In search of a sexy but non- traditional gown, it comes as no surprise that Jen's eyes naturally gravitated to the gowns in the Pnina Tornai Boutique.
Though it was Jen's first time trying on gowns, she did have a few ideas about her dream dress. For starters, a slit was a must! Jen wanted a gown that would show off one of her favorite features: her long, toned legs. While the classic princess ball gown was not for Jen, she did want a romantic touch to her gown, such as a bit of lace. Lastly, Jen was hoping for a gown with some type of low back. With this criteria in mind, her consultant pulled a few gowns for the bride-to- be.
After trying on a few dresses, Jen had finally come to her last gown: a lovely Pnina Tornai A-line gown with floral lace corset, keyhole back, and chiffon skirt with a slit in the middle. It was love at first sight. Jen walked out to show her mother the gown who immediately proclaimed that that this dress was the one!
“Everything was perfect on that gown,” Jen recalls.
Much to her delight, Jen's unique gown struck the perfect balance of romantic and seductive. Slightly worried about the illusion corset being too sexy after showing pictures to her friends, Jen's decision to leave the corset as it was was reaffirmed at her fitting. It was absolutely lovely when paired with the lace, and it perfectly complemented her keyhole back. The lace also helped to soften the gown and give the dress a more bridal feel while the slit in the chiffon skirt made the gown fun and flirty.
Lastly, to complete her bridal look, Jen wore a stunning floral crown on top of her gorgeous and beachy hair-do. Initially wearing a silk flower crown, Jen knew she had to wear the real deal after deciding upon tropical Hawaii as her wedding setting.
With the gown being the statement that Jen wanted for her wedding, she decided to keep the jewelry to a minimum. In love with the lace detailing on her cap sleeves and around the neckline of her gown, Jen opted for simple stud earrings to compliment the dress. Feeling flawless in her bridal ensemble, Jen was ready to marry her true love.
“I felt like it (the gown) was perfect! I don't think it could have fit any better,” Jen remembers fondly, “I felt like the most beautiful person in the world!”
With the sun shining down on them, and the wind blowing the chiffon skirt of her gorgeous gown, Jen wed her love, Matthew, and said aloha to her happily ever after.
